This course is for existing Drug Experts who wish to comment upon cases concerning Organised Crime and, in particular Operation Venetic type cases. A comprehensive overview that brings delegates right up to date with current trends, international, national and regional developments as well as slang terminology. This CPD offers unique insights into the trade at the higher echelons and provides fascinating, unique and advanced insights from our guest speakers. Areas taught include: - Expert Witness Roles & Responsibilities recap - Expert C.V. - Operation Venetic – what we learned - Transport - Geographically significant locations - Importation methods - The commodities - The ‘players’ - Weapons and violence - Professional Vehicle Concealments - Current Bulking Trends - The future of encrypted communications - Courtroom Skills - Defence Experts and Joint Meetings PLUS - Guest Speakers (when available): - Joe – a former advanced UCO – who entered into international conspiracies to import drugs from Europe, South America & South Africa with some of the most dangerous U.K. OCGs. - Pieter Tritton – a former drug dealer and international cocaine smuggler who was eventually imprisoned in one of the most violent prisons in the world. All areas are tested through a practical exercise – students prepare an ‘Operation Venetic’ Expert Report on Day 3 and are cross examined on Day 4.
